I offer long-term psychotherapy, which is primarily conversational. I will gently guide you in depth-work to explore where you are, where you have been, and where you are going.
Reflecting on your past and childhood, we will make connections to help you understand yourself and your relationships in the present. I also use parts-work where appropriate to embrace our multiplicities, contradictions and complexities.
Psychodynamically trained, I am influenced by my interests in attachment theory and intergenerational trauma.
During sessions, I might ask what is happening in the client-therapist dynamic to offer perspective on what it means for you to be in relationship.
What is it like being in therapy? How do you feel about the way we are working together? What does the connection between us feel like today?
Therapy can also provide space to practice interoception – the sense that helps us understand and feel what’s going on inside our bodies at any given moment. Getting to know our individual nervous system better provides a context for greater self-regulation.

I currently offer treatment to individuals only. I offer services at the Three Lamps Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Ponsonby.
Typically, the initial meeting will be a consultation.
We can discuss what has inspired you to seek therapy, answer any questions you may have about the process, and reflect on whether psychotherapy with me will be able to meet your current needs.
Each session is 50-minutes long, at a fee of $150 (incl. GST) per session.
Subsidies to contribute to the cost of therapy may also be available to you through WINZ, please see: https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/eligibility/health-and-disability/counselling.html
I am also registered to work with clients through Victim Support.
